The Winner of the Olympiad!
As a member of the Russian national team, Artem Uskov became the winner of FIDE World Youth U16 Chess Olympiad in Barranquilla, Colombia. The Olympiad was held in August 2025.
The team, which consisted of four young grandmasters for the first time in history — Ivan Zemlyanskii, Savva Vetokhin, Artem Uskov and Anna Shukhman — won 9 out of 9 matches and set a record for the Olympiads. Until this moment, no one team had won all matches at the Olympiad.
Grandmaster Uskov Artem took the 1st place on his board, making an important contribution to the team’s overall victory.
Congratulations to the team and Artem on their outstanding achievement!
